[ITC-LMS] Automatic enrollment of students on ITC-LMS and the Academic Affairs System (UTAS)
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Updated: October 07, 2022

ITC-LMS will automatically register course and student information that are already registered through UTAS by using the automatic linkage function. However, please note the following points regarding enrolled students' information.
- Enrolled student information is automatically registered to each course on ITC-LMS several days after course registration period starts. The registration period varies depending on the terms, departments and faculties. Therefore, the timing of registration on the ITC-LMS for enrolled students (course participants) varies from course to course. (For details, please contact the administration office of your department/faculty.) In addition, please note that course participants may not be registered before the course starts.
- In addition to the automatic registration of enrolled students (course participants), ITC-LMS also allows instructors to (temporarily) register course participants. If self-registration is permitted, students can freely register for the course themselves. However, please note that students who have not completed the registration process through UTAS may also be registered as course participants. If a student wish to take the course as an enrolled student, please inform them to register for the course through UTAS.
- If a student did not registered a course through UTAS, the student will be a temporarily registered student regardless of their registration in ITC-LMS.
- In ITC-LMS, students are automatically registered as course participants for the courses they registered on UTAS. Once a student is registered as a registered student on the ITC-LMS and then cancels the registration on UTAS, the student will be changed on the ITC-LMS from "registered student" to "temporarily registered student". It is possible to toggle the access setting for course contents "Always allow temporary registrants", "Permit temporarily registration until the confirmation date", or "Always enrolled students only".
- If you set the access settings “Permit temporarily registration until the confirmation date” , when the registration period for each course is over, the access settings will be automatically switched to "Always enrolled students only". (It is also possible for instructors to manually switch to "Always allow temporary registrants")
- Even if you register (temporarily register) or cancel your registration on ITC-LMS, it will not be reflected in the course registration information on UTAS. Please make sure to instruct students to register or cancel registration using UTAS.
